As per Nafpaktia News, a man named Haris who was 40 years old and owned a dog met with an accident on the Old Ring Road to the River Evinos on 9th November 2017. Sadly, he passed away after colliding with a cement mixer. This tragic news had a significant impact on the local community as his brother had also lost his life in a similar accident a few years back.
It’s still unclear how this contemporary Hachiko managed to find his way to the precise location where his owner met a fatal accident, a distance of 7.5 miles from his home in Nafpaktos. However, he steadfastly remains positioned at his owner’s memorial on the roadside, mourning for the past eighteen months without budging an inch. Although locals have tried numerous times to relocate him and provide him with a new family, he keeps coming back to his beloved owner’s shrine.
The unwavering loyalty of a dog towards his deceased human companion has moved the hearts of many locals. Despite their efforts to convince the stubborn canine to leave his new abode, the dog refused to budge and stayed by his owner’s side.
